Hims and Hers: Desperate Times, Desperate Measures?
Hims is back at it again, huh? Crawling back to Novo Nordisk after their last little "partnership" blew up in a spectacular fashion. I gotta say, the sheer audacity is almost impressive. Almost.
Round Two: Electric Boogaloo?
So, Hims & Hers had a bit of a mixed bag, right? They missed earnings estimates – ouch – but revenue supposedly "blew expectations out of the water." Okay, sure. But let's be real, that's like saying you crashed your car, but hey, at least the radio was still working. Does anyone actually believe this PR spin?
And now they're narrowing their full-year revenue guidance? That sounds like someone is backtracking, big time.
Then comes the kicker: they're talking to Novo Nordisk again about selling their weight-loss drugs. Remember that fiasco? Novo accused Hims of "illegal mass compounding and deceptive marketing." Seriously? That's not just a slap on the wrist; that's a full-on public shaming. What makes them think it'll be any different this time? Are we supposed to believe Novo suddenly forgot about all that?
The Slow Burn
Hims is clearly scrambling to find the next big thing. Their core sexual health business is slowing down, and their weight-loss ambitions are on "shaky ground." Translation: the boner pill market isn't as recession-proof as they thought, and people are catching on to the fact that "micro-dosing" weight loss drugs is just a fancy way of saying "we're selling you watered-down stuff."
They're throwing everything at the wall: testosterone treatments, menopause regimens, international expansion...it's like watching a toddler with a fully loaded spaghetti cannon. Sure, they acquired Zava, their European peer, for a cool $265.7 million. But is that really going to move the needle? Or are they just trying to distract us with shiny objects while the ship slowly sinks?
And "comprehensive lab testing capabilities" coming soon? Right. Because what I really want is a telehealth company sticking needles in me. Sounds legit.
I mean, come on, can’t they see that their brand is becoming synonymous with desperation? Maybe I'm being too harsh. Maybe I'm just jaded. But something about this whole situation feels…off.
The Novo Nordisk Question
The real question here is why Novo Nordisk would even entertain this idea again. Did they forget what happened last time? Or are they just that desperate for distribution channels that they're willing to risk another PR nightmare? I don't know. Maybe they have some ace up their sleeve. Offcourse, I can't imagine what it could be. According to a recent report, Hims rises on revenue beat, discloses it’s again in partnership talks with Novo.

Hims is playing a dangerous game, and I don't see it ending well.
